Do you have Type 2 diabetes?

Would you like to learn more about your diabetes?

Then attend a DESMOND course near you.

As part of a city-wide service all Nottingham patients with Type 2 diabetes can attend our diabetes education courses called DESMOND.  Whether you have been recently diagnosed with diabetes or have been living with the condition for a while now you can take advantage of a DESMOND course to learn more about your diabetes and how to manage the condition and live well.

DESMOND stands for Diabetes Education and Self Management for Ongoing and Newly Diagnosed and is a group of education programmes for people with Type 2 diabetes.

You can learn more about Type 2 diabetes and gain help managing diabetes-related health challenges, as well as meet and share life experiences with others. DESMOND is a great way to increase your knowledge and understanding of what having diabetes means, whilst empowering you to make your own decisions.

The Nottingham City Care educator team deliver a mix of full- and half-day sessions throughout the week and on Saturdays too. Group size is no more than 10 patients, and you are welcome to bring someone along for support, and are offered at various community venues.

To book on a session please either speak to your GP or nurse to be referred.
