WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Family Medical Centre is your practice - we run a quarterly patient participation group. This is designed so that you as patients can give your views (good and bad) and help develop the surgery and it's services. Click here to find out more.

FLU AND PNEUMONIA VACCINATIONS

Flu clinics are being booked for this years flu season. If you are over 65 or have a chronic disease please ring and book an appointment now.

The Flu season is almost upon us and vaccines will be arriving at the end of September. Please ring the surgery to make an appointment for your annual vaccination. The NHS provides vaccines free to the following groups:
• Over 65s
• Everyone over 6 months in a clinical risk group, those people with chronic diseases or with problems with their immune system
• Patients in residential and nursing homes
• Those in receipt of carers allowance or those who are the main carer for an elderly or disabled person
• Pregnant women at any stage of pregnancy

If you are housebound please ring the surgery to be put on the home visit list.

Pneumonia vaccination is also available however please note that only one vaccination is required in a lifetime for most adults. Patients who have problems with their immune system may need more. If you are in this group please ask when you have your flu vaccination.

The people who need pneumonia vaccinations are all the over 65s including those who will be 65 by 31st March 2012 and all those in the at risk groups. If you are unsure please ask your GP or practice nurse.

automated telephone appointment system/online appointments

We are hoping to be able to offer an automated telephone booking/cancelling service via the normal surgery phone number which will enable quick and efficient booking.  Later in the year we are also looking to introduce the option to book appointments via this website.  More information on this will posted in due course, but any feedback would be welcome via our feedback form HERE.

TRAINING DOCTORS

We are pleased to welcome our new doctors who are with us for the next few months - Dr Tim Chansa, Dr Omar Khalique, and Dr Andrew Jacklin.
