We offer blood testing for those patients taking warfarin.
Please make an appointment with the phlebotomist.

Baby clinic
6 week checks with the GPs and immunisations with the practice nurse.

Thursday 1.30-3.00 Drop in clinic with access to the health visiting team for advice and support, baby weighing etc.
A GP is available 2-3pm for patients who would like a GP to see their baby to discuss any problems or concerns.

Cardiovascular disease screening for all those between 40 and 74 and ethnic minorities over 25
By appointment with the practice nurse team.
All patients are being contacted and invited to attend.

Contraceptive services

Family Planning Clinic Thursday, drop in 4.30-6.00 pm
For smears, pill checks and contraceptive advice.
Coil insertions are in double appointments, during ordinary surgery.
If you need emergency contraception make an urgent appointment with the doctor. Alternatively the pharmacist offers emergency contraception.

Diabetes services
Diabetic education monthly run by dietetics in the Health education Room.
Diabetic education and support group monthly Wednesday pm.
Information from Reception or the Practice Nurse team.

Family planning, cervical smear and asymptomatic sexual health screening clinics
Friendly accessible clinic run by the Practice Nurses.
Wednesday (as from 15th June) 4.30-6.00 drop in no appointment required.
Appointments can also be made at any other time to discuss family planning and sexual health issues with the Practice nurse. Free condoms are available to 13-26 under the C card scheme to those who have registered for a C-CARD. Registration by appointment with the practice nurse.

Health in Mind/mental health services at FMC
Referral by G.P
CBT therapist visits weekly Tuesday.
Nurse Practitioner in Mental health Thursday pm.
Mixed therapy service Fridays.
Support for those off sick to return to work by appointment arranged through health in mind.
Psychiatrist visits Monday pm.

Lifestyle advice and health promotion
By appointment with Practice nurse includes the counterweight weight management programme and access to slimming world vouchers.

Health trainers appointment by appointment at FMC or an alternative venue by arrangement with the service. – self referral or referral by health professionals . They work with individuals or groups to reduce smoking, improve diet and increase physical activity. Target group 40+

Maternity services
Our midwife will  co-ordinate your antenatal care, arranging hospital scans, antenatal classes, and other services to support you, during your pregnancy, and with your new baby.

Minor surgery
The practice is able to provide a variety  of minor surgical procedures including cryotherapy (e.g. for warts), joint injections, and other small procedures.

Rheumatology monitoring
In conjunction  with the rheumatology team at the hospital we provide blood testing for those patients on certain  rheumatological drugs. Please discuss with your GP.

Smoking cessation
New Leaf service every Monday 4.00 -6.30 pm drop in at FMC and also at the adjoining pharmacy by appointment to suit client. Patients can also choose from 50 local sessions or telephone and text support.

Substance misuse services
Dr Ken Brown, Dr Sadaf Bashir, Jackie Slater and Jon Manners, from Nottingham Alcohol and Drug Team, provide a service at the surgery. You will be assessed and offered drug treatment, if appropriate. Speak to one of the GP’s first, if you think you need help.

Substance misuse clinic - Referral by any healthcare professional or self referral all day Tuesdays.
Tuesday pm Harm minimization, BBV screening and HepC treatment clinic.

Last Orders – Advice about alcohol. Offers practical and confidential advice to people who want to reduce the amount of alcohol they drink. Wednesday pm referral by health professional or Tel 0800 055 6184.

Young persons services
As well as  the above family planning clinic, we offer free chlamydia screening for patients under the age of 25. You do not have to have symptoms to be screened.
